A Glasgow based band, Primal Scream were popular between 1987 and 2008, releasing 9 albums during this time. They were known for their love of classic rock, with their influences being cited as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Something that could definitely be seen in their ever popular music.
It cannot be a Scottish music countdown without mentioning Annie Lennox. A legend in pop music, Annie Lennox has been a popular artist for many years, and this is mainly thanks to her part in The Eurythmics. Her instantly recognisable voice and popular sound, is one that still stands the test of time.
Okay, so they may not have had the most glittering musical career, but one thing is for sure. These twins know how to write a catchy song. Charlie and Craig Reid hail from Fife, and are responsible for releasing 500 miles, a song that is still played, sang and danced to despite being released in 1987!
Whilst he may have been born in London, Rod Stewart is a Scotsman through and through. In fact, not only is he one of the best loved Scottish musicians, but one of the most favoured Scottish men in general! He has sold over 100 million records across the world and has had a glittering career that has spread throughout the years.
