The kilt may be a traditional item of clothing in Scotland, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t an amusing piece of clothing. Whilst you may often see men wearing kilts with slightly stern faces, there have been plenty of fun (not to mention a little bit naughty) activities that have been completed by men in kilts over the years.
Here are some of our favourites.

Safety first kilt
You wouldn’t think to join up kilts with working on a building site. But when they are made from high visibility material, then they are almost a piece of safety clothing right? Or at least, that is what this guy from Edinburgh seemed to think. I am not sure that a kilt is ideal when using a digger though, as we are sure that those things create a draft.

The wedding day
One of the most popular times to wear a kilt has to be the wedding day, and whilst this may be traditional. It certainly can be fun. There are plenty of photo opportunities that can be had when the groom, or the wedding party wear kilts. Some of which may not be suitable for smaller eyes of course!

A kilt come rain, shine or snow
It isn’t just Scottish men that can pull off a kilt. Something that this frosty little friend shows perfectly. Although we are not sure that we like the idea of having to try and dry out this kilt after the snow has melted!

Kilts on a rollercoaster
It may not seem like a good idea to ride a rollercoaster with a kilt on, but these guys didn’t seem to mind. In fact, we think that it looks like they are having an awesome time. Although, we are not sure that the people underneath the loop the loop had just as good a time!
Here at Mackays we can’t promise you that you will find men wearing kilts when you arrive, but we do like to have lots of fun. In fact, if you fancy wearing a kilt for yourself, then we won’t judge you. Just make sure that you don’t forget your sporran!
