This September, Mackays are excited to feature our Malt of the Month: Wolfburn Northland Single Malt.
Becoming Scotland’s northernmost mainland whisky producing distillery, this whisky release is one we’ve eagerly anticipated!
With long fermentation, slow manual distillation and maturation taking place partly in quarter casks that previously held peated whisky from Islay – this malt is not one to be overlooked.
The Northland Single Malt holds a fruity nose, bringing sweet perfumes of apple pie. This earthy drink holds tones of peatiness holding a long finish with ever so enticing honey tones.
It’s not only us at Mackays who believe that these new brewers are onto something special.
Upon tasting, the Masters of Malt noted that the whisky was, ‘a deliciously complex single malt from one of Scotland’s newer distilleries – they are hitting it out of the park!’
If you would like to sample the hottest addition of Scotland’s remarkable malts, treat yourself to a visit at Mackays bar, where we will gladly cater to your whisky needs.
