Rainy days doesn’t mean you can’t reign your day like royalty! Here’s a list of our favourite rainy-day activities.
All about History
It will come as no surprise to anyone who has previously frequented the Highlands that the lives of our ancestors are embedded deep into the heart of our culture. What could be a more befitting way to discover the origins of our culture than visit the abundance of Heritage centres spread across Caithness, including Wick’s very own Heritage centre!
Granted this option may not initially scream excitement! However, with interactive workshops, cafes and activities for the young ones you’d be surprised how entertaining a day out of the house can be!
No experience of Scottish heritage is complete without exploring one of our oldest traditions, the Highland malts. Old Pulteney without a doubt holds significant historical presence in the town of Wick. Mix all that heritage with a Whisky tour and cheeky dram and you are bound to have an incredible (and educational!) afternoon.
Although you might not be lounging on a beach with a Pina Colada in hand, a Mackays Masterclass will surely take your taste buds away onto your next holiday! Spend an afternoon with your own Barista as he guides you through a selection of Mackays favourite Cocktails.
Bookings are available up to two weeks in advance with a variety of party packages available.

Grab your wellies and learn to dance in the rain
If all else fails and you feel a sudden wave of cabin fever take over, we highly recommend grabbing your wellies and learning to dance in the rain! Wick and our surrounding towns are blessed with a brilliant coast line that makes for the best walks. Who knows, you may even catch the odd ray of sunshine!
