There’s not much more Scottish than a good shortbread biscuit, and at Mackays Hotel you get the best Scotland has to offer.
You’ll find some Reid’s bakery biscuits waiting for you in your room, but we can assure you they won’t stick around for long! That’s because Reid’s Bakery produces traditional Scottish favourites with a twist.
What makes Reid’s Bakery so special?
The bakery has been a family run business since 1966, and it shows in everything they make. The traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation is combined with innovative approaches and style.
Reid’s pride themselves on their handcrafted and award-winning (Scottish Baker of the Year 2017!) baking and it shines through in the quality and taste of what they do.
Based in Thurso, it seems fitting that a bakery that makes such traditional Scottish produce should have its home in a beautiful, historic town. This is where Reid’s comes up with their genius flavour combinations – vanilla & walnut, raspberry & white chocolate, blue cheese & walnut, smoked sea salt & cheddar, and more!
We are biased towards their shortbread biscuits, but they have a whole range of bakery products to try – see for yourself.
So, when you’re next visiting Mackays, look for a taste of Reid’s bakery – our favourite is the raspberry and white choc biscuit!
