Continue the festivities this month with a celebratory dram of Benramoch’s 10-Year-Old Malt!
Benromach is a Speyside distillery that prides itself on keeping things traditional. Every cask is filled and the spirit is cut by hand, considering the distilling process an art form and giving it the respect it deserves.
The handcrafted process means we get to taste an amazing malt whisky, with Speyside’s signature hint of smoke. Traditionally, malting barley with a peat fire
gave the whisky some character, and the family behind Benromach made sure they included this step when they brought the distillery back to life.
It’s an exact science; Scottish barley is grown locally and malted over a specific amount of peat smoke. Water from the nearby Chapelton Spring and a traditional combination of brewer’s and distiller’s yeast comes together to create a distinctly Scottish taste.
What makes Benromach so special?
The 10-Year-Old malt is a real treat. A rich, fruity aroma with a hint of nutty chocolate has notes of berries and creamy malt. But it really comes to life with a few drops of water. This releases the hint of peat smoke, adding toasted notes and depth to the flavour.
Benromach is determined to keep the traditional Speyside whisky alive and delivers a collection of malts with a signature character: beautifully balanced with a light touch of smoke.
