Ensuring coronavirus safe travel in Scotland is important to us. As such, we have put in place enhanced procedures ensuring your safety for when you stay with us.
Our building, which we love, was built in 1883 so not designed for 2-meter distancing. We have a one-way system in place for you to avoid crossing over. You will always enter the hotel through the main front door whether staying with us or eating with us.
We have signage and arrows in place to help you navigate the hotel. We will also ask you to join us in the Mackays Dance which is simply if we take a step towards you then we ask you to take a step back – the music will be in your head 😊.
We have enhanced sanitation procedures in place for your safety and our teams. Payment will be taken for your room before arrival and room keycards will be sanitised for your arrival. Your food and drink will be charged to the card provided and an invoice emailed to you.
Where possible we will practice the two-meter physical distancing (remember the Mackays Dance 😊) and where it is not achievable we will be wearing visors in public areas. Hand sanitising stations will be available throughout the hotel and directional signage will be in place.
We have roped areas in place to ensure you maintain a safe distance when checking in and signs explaining this at the entrance We will be staggering dining times so do book in advance to secure your preferred time. You will notice a Perspex screen at reception now.
We have trained our team in our new procedures and they have all attended an in house orientation return to work session.
Our housekeeping team will only enter your room if it is vacant and we will not service during your stay unless it is over 7 days. The team will follow the Covid-19 cleaning guidelines.
We ask all guests to be considerate of others and will be sure to follow the guidelines for our, yours and other guests’ comfort and safety.
We are looking forward to seeing you and even though we will be physically distancing we will still be doing our Mackays Magic.
Warning – Max and Bria are still getting used to the distance requirement and are furiously wagging their tails at the thought that they will see people other than us!
