Exhilarating wildlife tours

The Geo Explorer is a 10m long RIB boat with family-friendly seating, which carries twelve passengers. It cruises at speeds of up to 25 Knots. Although wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, you can look out for seals, whales, porpoises, dolphins, puffins, guillemots, razorbills, gannets and more. See how many different animals you can spot! You’ll also get to enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery. Boat tours run seasonally from around April to October and you can book your tour here in advance to secure your place.

Reviews...

We attended a function at Mackays to open the Mey Games 2019, the staff were superb and very attentive, the food (Buffet) was second to none, beautifully presented and fresh. Great choice of beers and whiskies, and very reasonably priced for a hotel, what more could we ask for? The Manager introduced himself and nothing was too much trouble – we’re looking forward to attending again next year.

Things to note

What to wear and check before you go

Bring warm clothes for your boat trip, such as hats, jackets and jumpers, and wear sensible footwear. Boat trip availability is seasonal and we recommend you book ahead to avoid disappointment. Occasionally, boat trips are cancelled due to bad weather, so we recommend you always check with the tour company before you travel.
