Why hello there,
If you haven’t met us personally, Bria and myself are Mackays’ favourite little helpers. From the lobby to the occasional shift in the bar, it turns out four paws are far more useful than two hands!
Over the years, we have loved meeting all your friendly faces, but we sure do love making new furry friends!
In the hopes of having some new play dates, we are happy to announce that Mackays hotel are available to dogs and owners alike! We have always provided four legged friendly apartments however dogs are now allowed in both the lobby and bar; meaning that we can finally have a dinner date!
After a a day exploring our favourite Highland scenes, you may feel slightly ruff, but don’t worry; our comfortable variety of apartments are guaranteed to have your tails wagging!
Bria & I have worked especially hard to make sure that every furry need is catered for. From fluffy beds to creating your ultimate Caithness doggie guide, we’ve worked to ensure that the whole family has a barkingly good time with us.
See you soon,
Max & Bria
We are pleased to welcome dogs at a charge of £25 per dog, per stay. Our apartments are equipped to keep 1 small or medium dog per flat.
To ensure the appropriate allocation of pet friendly apartments, it is a must that you let us know, at the time of your reservation, that you wish to bring your dog along. Otherwise you may be disappointed if we aren’t able to accommodate your pet.
Dogs very welcome in our bar area and foyer of the hotel.
Pets must not be left in apartments unaccompanied and must be kept on a lead at all times when in the hotel.
Please keep your pet on the floor as allowing him/her to jump on furniture and beds will cause extra cleaning charges.
We do request that they are not left unaccompanied in rooms, lest damage is done, or other guests are disturbed by noise. We reserve the right to charge for any damage or extra cleaning required.

Make sure to pack these essentials for a howling time:
Meals and bowls (only if you have a favourite bowl from home!)
Toys and treats.
Old towels – to dry wet paws before you come in from a walk.
Blankets – to cover furniture if you think your dog is likely to jump up on vacant chairs and sofas, we do ask you not to encourage this as there might be an extra cleaning charge. (It’ll make tidying up at the end of your holiday a lot easier too!)
